Those veterans have not been re-registered at the Veterans' Department will be suspended pension deposition from 1st August 2006. However, in case of re-registration they will receive the pension without problems. The amount of military veterans in Georgia accounts for 67.000 and 21.075 has not been re-registered. Zaza Sopromadze, Director General of the State United Social Insurance Fund of Georgia, held a press conference concerning this issue. Nino Okribelashvili, Chair of SUSIF's Supervising Board, and Nukri Tsagareishvili, Head of Veterans' Department attended the press conference.

From August 1, 2006 the Georgian military veterans will not be able to use the old veterans' IDs. According to the decree #1058 of 17th December, 2005 of president of Georgia based on the Georgian law on “War and Military Veterans” new sample of war and military veterans' IDs was approved.

According to the president's order the war and military veterans' IDs lost their legal power from August 1, 2006.

The Georgian war and military veterans' IDs will be issued to the persons indicated in the Georgian law on “War and Military Veterans” by the sub-agencies of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia – Veterans' Department and its territorial agencies.
